Made with simple ingredients, this no-fuss recipe involves steaming a tightly rolled log of seasoned chicken paste to perfection. The result? Tender, flavourful slices that are perfect for layering in sandwiches, adding to salads, or enjoying as is. Plus, it’s preservative-free and super satisfying to make from scratch! Let’s dive into this easy and delicious recipe.

Homemade Salamis are much tastier and the freshness of the flavour is way better than the market bought ones.

Ingredients

250 gms of Chicken Mince.

1 Egg,

1 tsp Cream,

½ tsp Chilli Flakes

1 tsp Ginger Garlic – freshly chopped,

½ tsp Oregano

1 tbsp, Fresh Coriander leaves

1 tsp freshly Crushed Peppercorns

1 tsp Lemon Juice.

⅔ tsp Salt

Method

Grab a thick piece of foil (or double up on regular foil to avoid any accidental tears while rolling).

Get your Mixer Jar out and put the chicken mince into the jar.

Add all the ingredients one by one into the mixer jar and make a smooth paste, each one adding their own flavour to the paste.

Place the chicken paste in the centre of the foil, roll it up into a tight log, and twist the edges like you’re wrapping a giant toffee.

Alongside, pour 3 cups of water for boiling in the steamer.

Pop this chicken log into the steamer and let it steam away for 20 minutes on medium-high heat.

Once done, let it cool completely and stash it in the fridge overnight—this step makes slicing so much easier.

The next day, unwrap the foil and slice the log into rounds of your desired thickness using a sharp knife. Perfectly prepped and ready to serve!
